DumaTau Camp (Chobe / Linyanti Region) Botswana
The Linyanti Reserve consists of 125,000 hectares of prime wildlife countryside. The reserve is bordered to the north by the Linyanti River and the east by the Chobe National Park. Two-thirds of the Savuti Channel is situated within this reserve. The region has all the habitat diversity to make it a haven for wildlife. There are excellent grasslands and water holes along the Savuti channel and along the Linyanti.
Inland there are acacia and mopane forests which sustain large numbers of Elephants in the winter months. The Savuti area is famous for its Lions which have been documented in National Geographic films, one of the most exciting being the Joubert's "Eternal Enemies" - which depicts the conflicts between Lions and Hyaena. It is in this reserve that Duma Tau is situated.
Duma Tau is built under cool and shady mangosteen trees overlooking an enormous lagoon east of the source of the Savuti Channel.
Duma Tau's accommodation is in luxurious raised tented rooms under thatch with en-suite facilities - hot and cold running water, flush toilets and an indoor shower. (16 bedded luxury camp). Each room has a spectacular vista over the floodplains, with an additional outdoor shower to enhance the view!
There is a dining room, pub, lounge, a plunge pool and a
guest toilet with a fantastic view!

Then there are the predators... Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, Wild Dog and Hyaena, and the nocturnal animals - Bushbabies, Spring Hare, Aardwolf, Serval, Genet, Pangolin and the smaller predators.
Birding is great here - from the Okavango "specials" such as Slaty Egret, White Rumped Babblers and Wattled Cranes to the various bushveld species... Duma Tau offers boating, day and night game and nature drives along the Linyanti and Savuti, as well as nature walks.
