Boulders Lodge has a contemporary air of tranquility that honors Africa in an authentic way. Inspiring the name Boulders was an enormous boulder that sat right in the middle of the place where the wine cellar was to be built. A simple decision was made to build the cellar around the boulder! Guests can enjoy wrap-around views from most parts of the natural stone lodge, and the lookout deck offers the perfect spot from which to observe wildlife drawn to the Sand River. The quiet pond alongside the thatched lounge area allows the light and the landscape inside to the wide open spaces, where straw baskets, neutral shades and textured fabrics complement wooden furniture.
Singita Boulders Lodge offers twelve suites, all with their own en suite bathroom and shower, outside shower, private heated swimming pool, double-sided fireplace, mini bar and fridge, room mini safe, air-conditioning, overhead fans, private lounge, direct dial telephones and game-viewing deck.
Luxury Spa & Health Center
Singita's luxury spa offers a range of quality professional treatments, from a full body massage on the deck of your suite to acupuncture & chiropractic with highly experienced practitioners. The health spa facility at Boulders Lodge offers facials, a range of beauty treatments and massages combining the ancient arts of Oriental acupressure, Ayurveda and traditional European massage.
Guests to the lodge, and its sister establishment, Ebony Lodge, can enjoy the option of either using the spa directly or having therapists visit their suites for private beauty treatments on the pool deck.
In the fully equipped health center, you may keep up your fitness regime with the assistance of the lodge's personal trainer or the more adventurous athlete might go for a guarded jog through the bush. A steam room is also available.
Dining & Wines
Singita's executive chef has worked in the food capitals of the globe, and brings this international experience to the superb ingredients he finds in Africa. Guests at Singita will encounter something truly original: a cuisine inspired by African flavors yet guided by the Western culinary tradition.
Complementing the menu is Singita's hidden treasure: the best bush cellar in Africa. Buried deep in the cool rock below Boulders, the cellar boasts a truly unique and comprehensive cross section of over 12,000 bottles of South African and International wines - and Singita provides the perfect environment in which to enjoy them.

Activities / Wildlife
Africa's Big Five Game Animals: an Adventurer's Dream Destination! Singita has abundant wildlife, with a higher bio-mass of animals per hectare than the internationally renowned Kruger National Park. The park has a tremendous trove of wildlife treasures with the crown jewels being Africa's fearsome big five: elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo and rhino. For guests wanting private drives, Landrovers can be hired.
The nocturnal safaris open up a totally new world and a powerful spotlight illuminates the shy and sometimes rare wildlife. This is Africa's big game terrain, so your days and early nights will blissfully revolve around spectacular game viewing drives in Landrovers. Driving in open safari Landrovers allows for panoramic vision of the bush. Only six people are permitted per vehicle, leaving space for photographic and binocular equipment. On night safaris, when the heat of the day has subsided, the predators such as lion, leopard, hyena, black backed jackal and the owls start their hunting.
Drinks are served in the bush at sunset as a gentle introduction to the nocturnal bush. At Singita you can witness a spectacular lion kill, then wait for the spotted hyena to arrive.
Undisturbed, a giraffe gives birth, lions mate, cubs suckle, a gigantic tree is toppled by an elephant. Take a morning walk with a Shangaan tracker and espy the little five - the rhino beetle, elephant shrew, buffalo weaver, ant lion and leopard tortoise.
