Mahali Mzuri is located within the Motorogi Conservancy in the northern region of Kenya's famous Maasai Mara ecosystem at an elevation of 1700m above sea level. The camp is perched on the side of a lush valley with views over the rolling plains.

Together the Motorogi and Olare Orok Conservancies cover roughly 13,500 hectares (33,000 acres) and there are strict limits on the number of guests that can stay at any one time. The camp is well placed to observe the abundant game in the area and also to take advantage of the annual 'Great Migration', which sees up to one million wildebeest undertake a journey of roughly 1,600km.

Accommodation:

At Mahali Mzuri you're so close to the action you could join in and play with the baby wildebeests, although we don't recommend it! There are 12 luxury tented suites catering for a maximum of 24 guests at any one time.

Each tented suite sits on a raised platform and include a spacious bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, sitting area and a large deck with views over the landscape - perfect for spotting the game that will almost certainly wander into view!

Activities:

If you're looking for more action after your game drives, we've got lots to keep you busy at Mahali Mzuri. We can organise cultural day trips to learn more about the local Maasai Tribe whose traditional pastoralist customs are still very much in practice. We can also take you out on a walking safari, something not possible in the Maasai Mara National Reserve.

Game drives in the evening open up a whole new world with the chance to see predominantly nocturnal game including aardvarks and honey badgers. If you're looking for something a little more relaxing, book a spa treatment with our trained therapist or just stargaze from the deck outside your tent. Full day excursions with a packed lunch give us the flexibility to really explore the conservancies, and for the curious we can also organise day trips to the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Additional charges may apply for some of the activities listed above.
